Blog 263: Life is beautiful... A Retrospection
I've received so many emails from friends and fans here on MySpace asking for a blog update, asking if I'm okay... and just checking in. I must say that I am always pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming positive energy I receive from my fans. So now, its my pleasure to pass on a few details about what I've been up to in my absence. :)
A little over a month ago, my mother flew in for a month to assist me with preparations for my move into my new place, (ok, mostly just to keep an eye on my little kidlet while I work and prepare to move.) Her first night in town, we were walking to through the neighborhood to the school and the three of us were flashed by a homeless man. The man proceeded to follow us 3 - 4 blocks down the street. Police were called, and turns out, this man was a Megan's Law registered sex offender. All 3 of us, (10 year old included,) received subpoenas to testify in the preliminary hearing. Happily, I had to forego the Exotic Erotic Ball in order to satisfy the subpoena.
I have felt such a true appreciation for my life in the last month... One of my dearest friends has been living on the street for the last 2 years, initially by choice, but now she finds it hard to return to a life she once knew. As much as I would like, I've learned to just let go and let the people I love make their own choices and live their own path. I've discovered how to be here when she wants me to be... to not judge her for her decisions, yet to maintain a comfortable distance so I do not have to fear influence of the drama that seems to follow her about these days.
During this past month, We moved into our new townhouse, making me officially a valley girl. :) I thought I'd dread it, but I'm finding that I actually love it. MyLove walked into my bedroom and viewed the lit fireplace and told me that I did good... and praised me for my diligence is finding the perfect place for me, and not rushing into something I would hate later on. With the freedom of a larger space, I broke down and finally agreed to adding a new member to our family... Tuesday, my babygirl and I adopted a gorgeous, 4 year old little boy named Duke, our Black Cocker Spaniel with white chest markings. The staff at the East Valley Animal Services were awesome and made it so easy to want to take every single pet home with us. We could have easily have purchased a puppy, but I felt it was important to save a dog from being euthanized, than to buy into a potential puppy mill dog. Of course, no good deed... Duke (of Love,) suffers from a condition known as cherry eye. He will require surgery in order to prevent him from having further optical issues. He's such a good dog, already house trained... although we have had a few problems - he's not feeling well from being neutered today. Poor baby! He's in such bad shape... his fur was matted and he desperately needed a bath. But now he's home and lying on my kitchen floor while I prepare tomorrow's dinner.
Speaking of tomorrow...
In the early afternoon, myself, Amber Peach, Diana Devoe, Director Jax, former contract girl Julia Ann and a few others will spend the first part of our day volunteering at a local park, helping to serve food for some of our city's homeless and disadvantaged. My little girl wants to read books to some of the children benefiting from this event. Afterwards, I've invited a few people, friends, co-workers, etc., to stop by for dinner.
The Menu:
Hors d'oerves: Goat Cheese Stuffed Figs
Soup: Pumpkin and Shrimp Bisque
Salad: Arugula with oranges, pomegranate seeds and goat cheese
Main: Roasted Turkey w/ Pomegranate Gravy
Potato: Mashed Yams in Orange Cups
Veggies: Green bean casserole, Spiced Carrots
Other: Oprah's fav macaroni & cheese
Breads: Cornbread Dressing, Cornbead muffins w/ maple butter, home made whole wheat rolls
Desserts: La Bete Noire (Flourless Chocolate cake,)
Nectarine Blackberry cobbler
Banana Pudding
Bread Pudding
Drinks: cranberry kir royale & french 75
So far... that's my day tomorrow! ;-)

Blog 261: Dinner is served...!
Ahh... Since I haven't been on in a while I figured I might start things off with a bang by bringing you this extra yummy, extra tasty little recipe. :) I know how you guys love my recipes... so this time, I took pictures. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 clove garlic, minced
8 grape or cherry tomatoes, halved
1 lb medium asparagus
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 lb large sea scallops, tough ligament removed from side of each if attached
1 teaspoon creole or caribbean seafood seasoning
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/3 cup dry white wine
2 teaspoons white-wine vinegar
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) garlic scampi butter or unsalted butter, cut into tablespoon pieces
Preparation
Trim asparagus, then cut stems into 1/4-inch-thick diagonal slices, leaving tips whole.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a 12-inch heavy nonstick skillet over moderately high heat until hot but not smoking, then sauté garlic, gently browning. Add tomatoes, stirring for one minute. Next add asparagus, stirring occasionally, until just tender, 5 to 6 minutes. Transfer with a slotted spoon to a plate, reserving skillet off heat (do not clean).
Pat scallops dry and sprinkle with creole seasoning. Add 1 tablespoon oil to skillet and heat over moderately high heat until hot but not smoking, then sauté half of scallops, turning over once, until browned and just cooked through, 4 to 6 minutes total. Transfer scallops with tongs to another plate as cooked.
Wipe out skillet with paper towels, then add remaining tablespoon oil and heat until hot but not smoking. Sauté remaining scallops, turning over once, until browned and cooked through, 4 to 6 minutes total, transferring to plate. (Do not wipe out skillet after second batch.)
Carefully add wine and vinegar to skillet (mixture may spatter) and boil, scraping up brown bits, until liquid is reduced to about 2 tablespoons, about 1 minute. Add any scallop juices accumulated on plate and bring to a simmer.
Reduce heat to low and whisk in butter, 1 tablespoon at a time, until incorporated.
Add asparagus and 1/4 teaspoon salt and cook until heated through, about 1 minute.
Serve scallops topped with asparagus and sauce.
Makes 4 servings.

Please support the Jena 6. If you do not know what is going on in Jena, LA.. you must be living under a rock. The blatant racism in this small Southern town is in fact, embarrassing - for any civilized human being living in the US today. I have not spoken out on this before, but I hope this story brings light to all of those that disbelieve that racism like this still exists in 2007.

Blog 257: Hottie of the Day
I'm taking a quickie minute to hop online before going back to unbraiding my daughter's 50 million braids (Thanks Mom!) in order to say hello. I know its been awhile since I've been here, as usual, I've been a busy girl.

Okay... back to work. My little rock star is fast asleep and I've got to somehow manage to slid her back on my lap so I can finish her hair. Oh for the love of hairspray... who the hell decided that it was fly to put hundreds of tiny braids in little Black girls heads AND put damn near as many beads on each with rubber bands that I swear had to have been engineered by Satan's minions... *Sigh* Back to work. At least SHE gets to sleep.

Other than that...
- Anthony and I had an UNBELIEVABLE scene for Black Ice that left me quite satisfied.
- Mr. Love was home for a few days and I was able to get away and reconnect.
- The Director and I spent quite a few days fucking like rabbits before the kidlet came home from vacation... Including one night where he walked through the door, kissing me wildly while fucking me in a standing position against my front door until I was forced to lift my foot to the door handle for balance... leaving me with a NASTY Love Bite the following day.
- I stayed up late one night last week baking and decorating 40 cupcakes to deliver to Rock Star Summer Cam to celebrate Princess Love's 10 birthday. They were so perfect... I recorded a video blog that will eventually get uploaded.
- myLove and I reconnected and I discovered that I am even more in love than ever before...
- Encounters with both The Director and myLove left me with the belief that Common's new release, Finding Forever is PERFECT to fuck to.
- I watched as my now 10 year old daughter and her best friend fawned, blushed and giggled over boys at the pool... only to be told, "we're pre-teens now mom, you have to expect that one day we might like a boy. It's no big deal."
- I've heard, "Mom! You're embarrassing me!" roughly 25 times in the last 2 weeks.
- And I'm crossing my fingers & lighting a candle hoping that this couple that beat me to look at this condo in Sherman Oaks today doesn't manage to clear the credit check so I can break my lease and move at the end of the month into this killer place that I'm totally feeling. :)

Blog 254: Good Writing = Intelligence
So its almost 1pm and I'm trolling porn sites for press releases and news of interest and I come across a posting on Luke Ford's site. Luke often takes written sound bites from posts on adult message boards and blogs and brings it to an audience that might only visit his site for gossip. This particular post was from a blog on XBiz and mentioned a post from yours truly in a thread on Adult DVD Talk on whether or not female performers get sick from acts like ATM in our scenes. Blog 253: Spoken Funk
So... last night I went out with Porn Stud, Nathan Threat to this spoken word spot in Beverly Hills. He had asked me to go quite a few times, and I was never willing to leave the house... since my newfound attachment to Zoloft, (thanks to Dr. Gera,) I decided to brave the elements and venture out in public to a non-work function. I got a wild hair up my ass, (not usually a good thing in my line of work...) and decided to read one of my poems. :) Since I was totally unprepared, I downloaded the piece, "Cerebral Fornication," to my cell phone and read it aloud. I was so nervous... my heart was beating through my chest!!! Later I found out the show was being streamed live onto the internet... and that the world would see it! Go figure, of course, my virgin time on the stage (in this capacity,) would have to be televised...

After my show ends, "The Director" picks me up from the PTU Studio for our date. We head to the Laugh Factory and catch Shang, Darren Carter, and Dane Cook on stage. Then off to my place for a little lust that leaves me virtually speechless. I'll have to actually take the time to vlog when I'm not in the midst of post-coital bliss so you all can get just how things are progressing...
